Victorian and Australian Teachers’ Associations

HTAV, along with most of the other ‘subject associations’ in Victoria, is a member of the Council of Professional Teaching Associations of Victoria (CPTAV). Belonging to this group gives us a chance to connect with other great teachers’ associations to learn, collaborate and advocate together.

CPTAV is a member of a national ‘peak body’ called the Australian Professional Teachers’ Association (APTA). This group engages with national education policy and projects, and provides input from the teacher’s perspective.

You can find the latest APTA newsletter here, and the APTA strategic plan here.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. The HTAV Office is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. These lands were never ceded. We pay our respect to their ancestors and Elders, past and present.

Please note: Members of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities should be aware that the HTAV website may include images or names of people now deceased.
